Business Continuity Planning provides the structure to guide UNC Charlotte and its various stakeholders in preparing, preventing, mitigating, responding and recovering from a disruption to campus operations such as an emergency or disaster. The overall effort to integrate and cultivate continuity of operations and organizational resilience is the function of Business Continuity Planning.
Through the Department of Risk Management, Safety and Security (RMSS), Business Continuity Planning and Police and Public Safety serve to foster collaboration between relevant university initiatives, programs, and community partners such as Charlotte Fire Department (CFD), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Office (CMEMO), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), and MEDIC. Police and Public Safety is responsible for activation and management of campus emergency response operations while Business Continuity Planning is responsible for maintenance and coordination of all campus emergency management plans.
