Evacuation Planning
How to Get Out Now !!
There are some emergencies that may require
you to leave a building (or the campus) in a hurry. Some
emergencies, like a fire, will not allow you to use elevators to
evacuate a building. You have to know where the nearest exit
stairwells and exit doors are located so you can get out without
confusion or wasted time.
Each building on campus has an assigned
Facility Marshall. It is this person's responsibility to do the
following:
1.Develop and maintain an evacuation plan for the building.
2.Ensure that egress maps are posted in appropriate locations throughout
the buildings. 3.Ensure that lighted
"Exit" signs inside the building are working.
4.Appoint and instruct/train evacuation facilitators for each floor or
separate wing of the building.
Here are some tools for evacuation planning:

Should we have to evacuate the campus
immediately, we will move to designated
Campus Evacuation Rally Points on foot where we will be
picked up by mass transportation (CATS or CMS school buses) and taken to
a safe shelter. There will be no movement by private vehicles.
Emergency vehicles and shuttle buses for people with disabilities are
the only vehicles operating during a rapid evacuation. The campus
road network must remain clear for these vehicles to operate.
