Emergency Alert System (EAS)

UNC Charlotte utilizes an Emergency Alert System (EAS) known as the PIER System. This system allows emergency personnel to send text alerts to the personal phone of anyone who signs up including instructions for personal safety during a campus emergency via email, voice over phone messages, and text. 

UNC Charlotte offers this service free of charge to students, parents, faculty, and staff. (Recipients may incur text messaging charges from their personal cell phone provider.) To sign up for this free service, follow the link to the UNC Charlotte Alerts webpage or follow the PIER Alerts link under Quick Links at the top right of this page.

For access from the University homepage, go to www.uncc.edu and click on Alerts (at the bottom left), this will direct you to the UNC Charlotte Alerts webpage. Click on Questions/Comments and select Join Notification List to sign up for the service.
