Through Business Continuity Planning, Office of Emergency Management provides the structure to guide UNC Charlotte and its various stakeholders in preparing, preventing, mitigating, responding and recovering from a disruption to campus operations such as an emergency or disaster. The overall effort to integrate and cultivate continuity of operations and organizational resilience is the function of Business Continuity Planning.
Through the Department of Safety and Security, Office of Emergency Management serves to foster collaboration between relevant university initiatives, programs, and community partners such as Charlotte Fire Department (CFD), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Office (CMEMO), Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), and MEDIC.
